The Dharma Bermakna Foundation / Yayasan Dharma Bermakna (YDB)

Brief History

YDB is a non-profit foundation established on April 11, 2012 in Jakarta by George S. Tahija and Laurel C. Tahija to engage in social and non-profit endeavors. The foundation’s name, Dharma Bermakna, or “meaningful good deed” reflects YDB’s primary focus in education and education-related programs and research.

On September 30, 2013 YDB established a research partnership with the Faculty of Psychology, University of Gajah Mada (UGM) to develop individually administered Cognitive Assessment Tests for children age of 5-18 year. We are honored to get support from Dr. Kevin McGrew, co-author of world leader cognitive assessment test. We are now Phase II (items development) and preparing to kick off the Phase III in which we are going to norming the test for Indonesia and conduct the validation study. We are estimating the project will be completed by end of December 2017.

Beginning October 2014 YDB signed a management agreement with the Mandiri Association to operate the Sekolah Perkumpulan Mandiri (previously known as Sekolah PSKD Mandiri) in Menteng, Central Jakarta.
